The Battle of Stoney Creek

In the spring and summer of 1813 the Americans successfully drove the British from the Niagara frontier. They were pursuing them to the end of the lake; Burlington Heights. After receiving intel on the American encampment, the British, who were outnumbered 4 to 1, mounted a surprise night attack on the much larger American army. The British drove back most of the Americans, captured their guns and captured both of their generals. After the battle the US forces retreated back to Fort George, the offensive was over.

 Shortly afterwards, most of the US forces were sent to attack Montreal. The US forces in the Niagara, were more and more hemmed in by British Canadian and Indian guerrilla style warfare.  When an Indian force under John Norton surrounded and captured a larger American force, the USA forces in the regions' position became in jeopardy. The Americans were driven back to the US and also lost their fort in the region to the British; Fort Niagara. 

Here is my gaming group's Battle of Stoney Creek, which was much less successful for the British then the real battle.

The high point of the British attack, where they could have won. The British successfully charge the guns and then the US 25th regiment. 

The British are counter charged after driving many of the Americans back.

The British column on the road gets driven back, as the second brigade of Americans engages the other battalion. The British brigade morale fails and they all fall back. The British attack is over.
